Sitting Buddha - which one is the greatest?

Beside Reclining Buddha, there is another form of Buddha statue that located in Tumpat too. Wat Machimmaram houses a sitting Buddha and the location is in Kampung Jong Bakar, Tumpat, Kelantan. This magnificent statue was erected since year 2000 and still well mantained until today.
As usual I am keen to know about the ranking and also how the sitting Buddha's statue in other country looks like. Below are the list from my founding.
  • Please noted that whatever I record below is not a complete list and the height might not be an accurate measurement. It's all based from the online sources.

Reclining Buddha - which one is the greatest?

I believe many are familiar with Kuan Yin's statue in Kek Lok Si Temple or Reclining Buddha in Wat Chayamangkalaram, Penang. I wonder how many are aware with the existance of 3 types of Buddha statues in Kelantan, the state which are dominated by Malay Muslims. Being a state that ruled by Islamic Parti of Malaysia (PAS), one must thinking there is nothing to see or visit in Kelantan except mosques and other Islamic places. But the truth is hundreds of temples/wats can be found in Kelantan especially in Tumpat, a small district on north west of Kota Bahru.

One of the famous buddhist temple is Wat Phothivihan which situated in Kampung Jambu, Tumpat. It houses a statue of sleeping Buddha/reclining Buddha since 1979, the year which its construction was complete.

There are many versions concerning the ranking of this reclining Buddha. Some said it is the longest in South East Asia, some claimed it's second longest!!...so I don't know which one is true? Since I'm quite curious about it, I gather the information from many sources through internet and I listed it below.
  • Please noted that whatever I record below is not a complete list and the height might not be an accurate measurement. It's all based from the online sources.

Hubby New Toy

Besides 101010, this 20102010  is another unique date.
Again, I believe many people will do something on this day so that it will be a special date for memories.

Previously on 101010 hubby didn't plan anything special to do on that day. But for this 20102010, me and hubby head over to Penang. Where to?

Hike Enterprise is one of the shop that located along Penang Road. Well, this shop is specialized in..........

Yesss...... cameras !

The idea to get a good camera suddenly pop up in our mind about 2 days ago. We were interested in DSLR for it's quality photo shooting. But both of us knows nothing about DSLR. So within the 2 days, we were some sort like having our 'crash course' to learn all about DSLR through internet.

From the 'crash course' hubby planned to get Canon EOS 500 D Kit II. But where to buy? After some survey, it seems that these two shops which is Hike Enterprise or CnS has the most recommendations from customers. We don't know which one to choose. Most likely will be Hike Enterprise and if the owner of the shop LCLY then only we switch to other shop.

There was a young lady in the shop who serve us and it turn out to be the tauke's sister. Her service was quite good. After dealing for about one and half hour, hubby put aside his original plan to get EOS 500D. Instead he goes for this model.

So for us, the date 20102010 is the day where hubby bought his new toy!                  Canon EOS 60D Kit II .

It will be a very long process to learn how to use this type of camera. Hope we can master it asap :)

House Construction 2

10 Oct 2010  or   10.10.10

I believe many peoples will take the once in a lifetime chance on this special date to do something special.
Congratulation for those who tied their knots and also not forgetting the new 'moms' who gave birth to their child on this date.

For me and hubby, we didn't do something special. Hubby is not the kind of person who know how to be romantic to plan any sweet occasions for this so called 'unique' date. What to do .. 'sigh'....already married to him.

In the evening, hubby ride his bike and we went to take a look at our house's construction. It takes us less than 10 minutes to reach there. Very near only.

There was some changes of the gate since our last visit dated on 12 Sept 2010. Also the TNB lamp post already installed.

Then we take a walk around the house.

Left and right side way of the house. Full of unwanted grass.

Backyard of the house.
We plucked some of the wild kangkung that grows on neighbour's ground and plant it in our backyard. At least on this special date 101010 we have something that can be remember. Let's see whether the kangkung can grow or not in our next visit.
